Michigan property tax foreclosure deadline calculator
Pick the oldest year of property taxes you still owe. We’ll show the forfeiture and foreclosure dates for that year, and how many days you have left to pay or sell.

Dates follow Michigan’s statewide schedule. Confirm yours with your county treasurer.
Which year to pick
Pick the earliest tax year with an unpaid bill. Summer and winter bills from the same year count as that year’s taxes. If you’re not sure, your county treasurer can tell you which years are unpaid.
Before the deadline
Until March 31 of the foreclosure year, the house is still yours. You can pay what’s owed, ask your county treasurer about payment options, or sell and have the taxes paid from the sale at closing.
After a foreclosure
A former owner can claim proceeds left after the auction by filing Form 5743 by the July 1 right after the foreclosure. Read the full property tax guide for the steps.
